Some Things

Today was excellent. Slept in. Cleaned the floors. Folded some laundry. Did some sewing. Ate some Thai food.

Some things that are inspiring me right now (a bit random)...

And...I'm kind of afraid to mention this...because mentioning it kind of holds me accountable, which is a good thing but also I'm really lazy and also fickle and wishy-washy. But...I think I'm going to plan to run the Santa Monica 5K again this October.

I ran it in 2006 and it was incredible. I am NOT a runner. I have hated running my entire life. Running the mile in gym at school was my worst nightmare. And, speaking of nightmares, I have them regularly about running. And yet, somehow, from like June-October of 2006 I successfully trained for a 5K and actually ran it and finished. It was weird. Something I never thought I'd do in a million years. And...I think I need to do it again.

I still hate running. And it's going to be even harder to train this time as I'm 30 pounds heavier than I was last time. But...I think I need to??? I'll change my mind as soon as I try to run even a block. But, here it is in writing. Yikes.

All you insane people who have run marathons and half-marathons lately both inspire me and make me sick.

See, here's proof that I really did it. Nuts.

Hey, if you can get through labor then you can get through anything, remember?

I have faith in your marathon running abilities. I wish I could train for one. I really wanted to run the Nike half this October. I guess I'll just have to wait till next year.

Cara, you can totally do it! You have six months to get there! I bet you could even beat your last time.

I love the Indian space cadet. =)

I know how much you hate running because we ran next to eachother in gym and I think we hate it equal amounts! So, since you've done it and are planning on doing it again, I think I will too! Here's to a 5K.

Haha, Kaja that cracked me up. It's true -- if anyone knows how much I absolutely loath running it's you.

That'd be excellent if you did it, too! Too bad we can't train together. OK sure is far away.

Good luck!
