Other Peoples' Crafts

My dad bought this vintage motorcycle when I was just a baby. In October, he finally finished restoring it to it's full 1967-y glory. John made this little mini movie to commemorate the occasion.

You can also see some of the beautiful-ness of the little Northern Utah valley where I spent the first 20 years of my life. Love those mountains...

Music by Kidnap Kings -- a new fav-favorite!

I'm having a hard time coming up with blog content since all of my projects at the moment are gift-related! I do have a couple of things to show you, just as soon as I manage to get some pics taken!

Overwhelmed? Me?

I just finished making a list of the projects that I'm currently working on and ones that need to be started and finished. The number is 30. 30 projects. Sewing, knitting, crocheting, designing, printing, assembling. And those are just for Christmas! There is an entirely different list of projects that need to get done in the not-too-distant future: Norway Trip blog, printing, framing, painting, photo albums, hanging, thrifting. Phew.

Today is going to be all-projects all-day. I'm not even going to bother getting dressed. I think it's going to be a very good day.

Here is my favorite song right now. It's officially my new running song -- the one I switch to when I need a burst of energy to keep me going. Enjoy!

Just Some New Favorites

1) A certain little lady introduced me to this yogurt while we were staying at her house a couple of months ago. I can only find this brand at Whole Foods, but Trader Joe's also carries a maple yogurt that is just as delicious. It's like having dessert for breakfast, which is always a good idea.

And speaking of yogurt, I've been making these yogurt popsicles for William and he's nuts for them. I bought this Tupperware popsicle set probably about 8 years ago and have never used it. It's getting a lot of good use now, though! I just spoon yogurt (lately it's been the maple!) into the little molds, stick the sticks in and freeze. Since it's gotten so hot here, it's nice to have a healthy, cold snack for the kid (as opposed to that ice cream you see there).

2) Love my new water bottle. We've become addicted to bottled water around here and it's a disturbing trend. I got William a Sigg water bottle a year ago and we've loved it. This week I finally got my own. It's the greatest. Plus -- pretty!

3) The newest member of my vintage luggage family. Since my green one now transports my toiletries when on a trip, I needed another one for my sewing notions. I'm so lucky that the antique store near my parents' house always seems to have a good selection!

4) Taylor Swift. What can I say? I'm a little bit obsessed with her. She's adorable and her songs make me cry like a little girl. The song in the video below is like, unlistenable. I bawl my eyes out every time. Enjoy! Haha

You Won't Be Sorry

Check this out, why don't you? No, seriously. Do.

John and his band are some pretty entertaining guys. I especially like the epic battle scene at the very end. John massacres everyone.

If Only Time Flew Like a Dove...

1)The above baby. And the little name stool that he received as a gift. It's from www.hollowwoodworks.com. Just look how excited Will is about it!

2) A brilliant idea invented by the lovely Sheena and shared with me by Kelly: A spoonful of peanut butter and chocolate chips -- better than a Reese's PB Cup! And always available (not necessarily a good thing. Especially when one has a significant number of pounds to lose.)

3) Pushing Daisies - This show is on Wednesday nights on ABC and it rocks my world. After Gilmore Girls ended the TV world seemed a bleak and dismal place. Luckily Pushing Daisies showed up to save the day. If you haven't seen it yet you're really missing out. If you need further convincing, the pie diner owned by the main character is called The Pie Hole. Hello? Awesome.

4) Finding long-sleeve shirts for under $3 at Target.

5) "Island" by The Starting Line. Go listen to it now. We saw them open for Paramore (another of my favorite things) last weekend. The rest of their music is just whatever but "Island" is excellent.

Misery Business

I think I need professional help. Actually, I don't even want to be cured. But, I must admit that I have a serious fabric addiction. Half of the time I spend online I spend looking at fabric. And making lists of the fabrics I want. 90% of the time I don't actually buy anything...but my goodness do I have a sickness.

Thanks to the day of my birth, I recently came into some money. I was intending to save it for post-baby clothes but of course that didn't happen. Here's what I ordered today from good ol' Superbuzzy. The fabrics were too perfect and I was scared they'd disappear if I didn't snatch them up immediately.

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

I can't talk about what this fabric is for yet, but my goodness, it's just too much for me.

And another goodness-gracious moment is this band Paramore. John and I listen to them almost non-stop and we're going to see them play in November (if I can handle leaving my one month old baby). They're just simply the best band out right now. They make me positively giddy. First of all, they're adorable. Second of all, they have REAL songs. What a concept, right? Third, Haley's voice is amazing and I want it. Do yourself a huge favor and go listen.
